Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 August 2026.
This policy describes what GulfRabit collects, why, and who else sees it. It describes what the site actually does — including the advertising measurement below, which most shops leave unsaid.
What we collect
| What | Why | When |
|---|---|---|
| Name, phone, address | To deliver the order and to call you if the rider cannot find you | At checkout |
| Order receipts. Optional — the phone number is what we actually deliver on | At checkout, if you give it | |
| Order history | So you can track and re-order, and so we can honour returns | On every order |
| Cart and preferences | To keep your basket between visits | Stored in your own browser, not on our server |
| Advertising identifiers | To know which advert led to a sale — see below | If you arrive from an advert |
We do not collect your card details. Cash on delivery involves no card at all, and card and mobile-wallet payments are handled by the payment provider on their own systems. We never see or store a card number, a PIN, or a wallet password.
Advertising measurement
GulfRabit advertises on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). When advertising is switched on, two things happen that you should know about:
- A Meta pixel runs in your browser and reports page views, products viewed, checkouts started and purchases completed.
- Our server reports the same events to Meta through their Conversions API, together with your IP address and browser identifier, so the two reports can be matched as one rather than counted twice.
The purpose is narrow: to know which advert sold what, so we stop paying for adverts that do not work. We send Meta the order value and the product; we do not send them your name, phone number or address.
If you would rather not be measured this way, browser tracking protection or an ad blocker will stop the browser half, and Meta's own Ad Preferences settings control what they do with the rest.
Who else sees your details
- Courier partners — your name, phone and address, because that is what a delivery is. They see nothing else about you.
- Payment providers (bKash, Nagad, card processors) — only if you choose to pay that way, and only what the payment needs.
- Meta — the advertising events described above.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Cookies and local storage
Your cart, your wishlist and your recently-viewed products live in your own browser's storage — they never reach our server unless you place an order. Cookies are used to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. Clearing your browser data clears all of it.
How long we keep it
Orders are kept for as long as we may need to answer a question about them — accounting and tax records require several years. An account you no longer want can be closed on request; the orders behind it are anonymised rather than deleted, because a delivered order is also a financial record.
Your choices
- Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct anything wrong.
- Ask us to close your account and anonymise your history.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any of them.
